Ellie Buckley, a senior, and junior teammate Shea Volkmer of Campolindo High took third and fourth in the Division 3 girls final at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Buckley covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:53.9 and Volkmer clocked 17:56.3 to lead Campolindo to its third straight team title and seventh in program history with a 63-128 victory against Cathedral Catholic. Campolindo, which also had Rachel Moan finish 13th in 18:25.3, Caroline McCool (18:55.4) and Kate Kabenina (18:57.1) place 29th and 30th, respectively, Makena Weberski earn 44th in 19:18.8 and Sloan Pullen grab 59th in 19:39.0, became the fifth girls program in California prep history to win at least seven state championships. Campolindo earned one of four national at-large berths to compete Dec. 3 at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Oregon.
